The candidate must be able to lead positively and effectively, delegate tasks to employees, refine, create and oversee recipes and dishes while maintaining the quality, from-scratch brand of Kalona Brewing Company, and also offering weekly features and a rotating seasonally-inspired menu. A knowledge of craft beer and wine pairings are useful, but not required.
Responsibilities:
Be proficient on all cook stations set up lines and prep food items daily
Keep stations organized and clean
Make sure walk-ins temps are maintained and at good levels
Assist head chef with training communicate well with other staff and managers
Maintain a clean work space follow safe food handling guides
Practice safe work habits
Elaborate about food with servers
Help with weekly features write and prioritize prep list
Assist chef with helping with menu items and special dinners
Help keep positive and upbeat morale assist chef with tasks as given
Help with kitchen maintenance-lead staff in a productive manner
Use multiple cooking methods and come up with recipes and dishes
Ability to follow recipes and multitask
Over-seeing food preparation and quality
Qualifications:
- Two years of experience in kitchen management
- Strong leadership qualities
- Passion for food and cooking techniques
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
Additional Skills:
- Serve Safe-Preferred
- Knowledge of craft beer and wine pairings useful
